President Trump spoke out Monday evening regarding the FBI raid earlier today on the office of his longtime personal attorney, Michael Cohen.
Federal prosecutors obtained a search warrant under the direction of special counsel Robert Mueller, and reportedly seized records relating to “several topics,” including payments to adult film star Stormy Daniels, along with emails, tax documents and business records, including communications between Mr. Cohen and President Trump.
During a cabinet meeting with senior military leaders, President Trump spoke out to reporters regarding the raid, saying it’s a disgraceful situation and a total witch hunt.
“This is the most biased group of people,” Trump said, noting that Mueller’s team has found no collusion, and are not looking at the crimes committed from the “other side” with regards to what Hillary Clinton did.
He also condemned Attorney General Jeff Sessions, saying if he’d known Sessions was going to recuse himself from the investigation, he would have appointed someone else for the position.
